Eminem's "Recovery" To Hold Longest No. 1 Position For 2010
Date 16/07/2010 14:20  Author Shady  Hits 48  Language Global
Grammy-winning rapper Eminem's Recovery will reportedly remain atop the sales chart next week making it the longest-standing No. 1 album since 2009.

According to reports, Scottish singer Susan Boyle's I Dreamed a Dream led 2009 with a six-week run.

The rap superstar's current Shady/Aftermath/Interscope album will spend its fourth straight week at the #1 spot next week, with no debut on target for six figures. It's the first album to spend that long at the top of the charts since the end of last year and beginning of this, when Susan Boyle turned the trick, with six consecutive weeks at #1. Before that, Taylor Swift's Fearless spent seven weeks on top in 2008-'09. Justin Bieber's My World 2.0 has been #1 four weeks this year, but not consecutively. (Hits Daily Double)

In under a month, Em's new album has sold over a million copies.

Grammy-winning rapper Eminem's Recovery remains at No. 1 this week with 229,300 sold copies. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the rap star's latest effort has sold 1,287,000 units after three weeks in stores. (SOHH Sales Wrap)

Rap veteran Snoop Dogg recently said he was impressed with past chart topper Susan Boyle's record-shattering I Dreamed a Dream debut last year.

"I told Susan Boyle, 'When you put your record out,' when she sells a few records, come holler at me," Snoop told television host Chelsea Handler. "We can do a song together. Yeah [I'm a fan] because she was close to getting my record. You know I hold the record in the Guiness Book, I'm the only rapper to come out and debut number one and she was trying to get close to my record so I had to make sure she didn't. Yeah, I like her because she didn't get my record. If you set the studio session up, I'll do that." ("Chelsea Lately")

Em recently said he was unfazed by record sales.

"I don't think I've actually stopped to think about it," Eminem said referencing being named artist of the decade. "I never thought that my life would amount to this. But to be able to sit back and digest it is so strange to me, because I still feel so regular. I don't understand what people think the big deal is about me. It's a very strange relationship that I have with fame...Honestly, as long as people enjoy the music, that means the most to me. I could sell 80 million records in the first week, and if my peers or fans of real hip-hop didn't like it, it really wouldn't mean anything." (Rap Radar)
