The new extended versions of Eminem and Nicki Minaj's promotional clips for the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards have now hit the internet. Check out the promos for the show which airs on September 12th on MTV.

Here is what Eminem's manager had to say about Eminem's spot...

"We filmed this in The D a few weeks back to promote Em's appearance on the 2010 VMA's this Sunday, Spetember 12th. Em gets his Marlon Brando/James Dean combo character on and escapes from a flipped car to make his way to the VMA's via a surreal walk-of-fame with witnesses."

Eminem
's DJ, The Alchemist, recently spoke about the Eminem and Jay-Z shows in Detroit and the special guests who came out, including Dr Dre.

"I think Em tested the waters [for these shows in Detroit and New York] when we did the Europe tour. You could tell when he went out there in [Europe], when he saw the reaction of the people again, it was like, ‘Right.’ He’s been through so much. For him to be out there sober, this is the first time he’s hitting the stage — God bless the dead — without Proof. The [European shows] were big shows and a big step. You got the feeling he knew he had the step still, and people love him the same way. I looked at the crowds in Europe and said, “You have to do those shows in America.” A lot of times you go overseas. The love is the same. But the energy you see at these festivals [overseas], wow! Coming back from that and hitting the stage [Thursday in Detroit], reassured me, with a little bit of organization and some thought, the energy is the same in America. I was thrilled, like, “Wow. We brought it home.”

"From the DJ booth Thursday night, it was hard. You see the sea of people on the floor. If I looked up, I saw a full stadium of people. If I squinted my eyes real hard when the records were playing, I could see them going just as hard as the people in the front were. That was amazing. Even when Jay hit the stage, he had to pause and take a moment to take it all in. I felt that too. That’s not scripted."

"When Dre came out, that moment of the show, I became a fan. I was no longer DJing. At that moment when Dre came out, it was like, “Oooooh.” He was five feet from me, he came out the floor. He was rising. It was like watching a video. It was the theatrics of a video. When he came out and did his Dre bop, it was like he never left. When Em said, “You see what I do for you, Detroit”, I knew Em was really comfortable."

In the latest VMA promo clip, Marshall walks down the road to the VMAs. The final destination? The Nokia Theatre on September 12. You don’t want to miss it or you’ll be blown away.

Way before the sun came down, Bobby Ray warmed up the crowd with a solid 30 minute set. Here’s his big hit above and assistance from Playboy Tre below. That’s it for me! I can’t believe there’s another show tonight. Wow.

Grand closing. Grand opening. After Hov ended his set with “Encore” here came Marshall Mathers’ opening number. It feels so good to see him back. Good times.

Marshall hittin’ up the OVO Festival had its benefits. Last night, Aubrey returned the favor and got his crazy face on as Em kicked your favorite verse from “Forever”. Motion picture shit. Word to Bron Bron.

Hov took time to pay homage to hip-hop’s fallen soldiers especially Em’s homie Proof and his friend, Christopher Wallace. It’s a “Hard Knock Life” above and Iceberg Slim has “A Dream” to Led Zep’s “Stairway To Heaven” on the other side.

Seriously, last night’s opening concert of the Eminem/Jay-Z Home & Home series lived up to the hype and surpassed it. But in a night full of highlight after highlight, the biggest pop from the Comerica Park crowd came when Andre Young emerged. It was surreal. Below the fans let the Doc know they still want Detox.
